Sharp GX15 - Vodafone - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone

New Price: £44.25

Review for Sharp GX15 - Vodafone - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone:
A developer’s view
I’ve used this phone for over 12 months and can give a good review of its abilities. The carriers used here vodaphone and virgin (t-mobile).

Do not buy this phone if u intend to do development work. There is no access to the bluetooth stack, nor the IR port. Buy u do have access to internet services. There is no ability to upload .jar files except by over the air methods (which can cost loads if u’ve an expensive carrier).

1) INTERFACE: VERY easy to navigate through menus, very fast response time, bright colours. In call menu more difficult to use. overall an excellent interface 9 out of 10
2) IN CALL QUALITY: again excellent. A little quiet for the hard of hearing, nice volume adjustment buttons. 8 out of 10.
3) SOUND QUALITY: Its no MP3 player. mid files do sound good tho a bit tinny. 5 out of 10
4) FEEL FACTOR: the same size as a Nokia 3310, but slimmer and feels quite light. good grippage, clicky buttons have never caused a problem. 7 out of 10.
5) WAP: I used WAP loads thanks to this phone. the inbuilt browser is easy to use, although setting up is more difficult. 6 out of 10.
6) CRASHING: Has only crashed once 10 out of 10
7) CAMERA and VIDEO: rubbish. but until the phone manufacturers start to realise 3.1 megapixels is the minimum requirement for good picture one can’t expected camera quality photos from a mobile. 1 out of 10

Motorola C975 - Threepay - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone - With £30 of Credit (expires 60 days after activation; service limitations may apply)

Used Price: £29.95
New Price: £48.80

Review for Motorola C975 - Threepay - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone - With £30 of Credit (expires 60 days after activation; service limitations may apply):
Cheap and feature packed
After reading reports about the battery life I wondered what to expect, though for £29.99 I wasn't expecting much... How wrong I was!

The phone has a camera and video camera and the 3 services mean you can watch football highlights and music videos!

Plus with this phone I'm being paid to answer calls! Yes the battery life does mean a daily charge but for the price I don't believe it can be beat!

Panasonic GD87 - Orange - Just Talk

New Price: £55.00

Review for Panasonic GD87 - Orange - Just Talk:
User friendly phone with a fantastic camera
This phone really took my surprise, having never used a Panasonic handset before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the well designed, user friendly features. It comes with a very good built in camera for a phone, which by far is it best selling point over other camera phones on the market. The pictures come out much more clearer, with zoom functionality and the option to edit the pictures taken. I took some pictures with it and was really amazed by the quality. The buttons are well designed for text addicts and it comes with some quite cool polyphonic ring tone as standard. Plus it weighs at a mere 83g!

I give this phone a big thumbs up because it ’ s very sleek and stylish and in my opinion, one of the best looking flip phones on the market. I think it ’ s just about the right size too, because if like me you loose very small phones but don't like carrying a big bag to accommodate an equally big phone, then the size is just right.

Motorola V220 - Orange - Pay As You Go

Review for Motorola V220 - Orange - Pay As You Go:
Very Good
Both myself and my daughter have this phone and have had it now 18 months. We were recommended to get this model from myu sister-in-law who had also got it. Since then My Father in Law, and Nephew have gone on to get the same model. I have also found that a work collegue has got the same phone as well. she has had her phone two years now. No us us have any problems with this model. I find it easy to use and love haveing a different tune for every member of my phone book.

Sony Ericsson K700i - Orange - Pay As You Go - Silver

Used Price: £59.99

Review for Sony Ericsson K700i - Orange - Pay As You Go - Silver:
good and bad
When I first got this phone a few months ago I have to admitt I was impressed. It's trendy, and being able to set MP3's as ringtones is my favourite feature. I transfer them from my computer via bluetooth.

However, now that the honeymoon period is over I am starting to resent my silver companion. Admittedly, she has withstanded a beating over the months. Although she has started to collect dust both in the rear loudspeaker and between the screen and the clear outer cover, making the screen ever harder to read.

Other problems are the picture quality, since the camera is one of the selling points of the phone. (the commercials slogan was 'camera meets phone' if memory serves.) The photos look good on the phone, but they come out very grainy when transfered to other medium and the night mode is frankly a joke since all of your photos come out looking like static.

My last complaint about this phone is that the little navigation control thingy has become very unresponisve and I am now going to be changing my phone after roughly 4 months of use.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good phone, however a few niggly points (such as those I have detailed) are bound to creep up on you.

Overall, I have given this product 3 / 5 since although it is quite a solid, functional, phone. It might not last you till your next upgrade.

Samsung M110"Solid" Pay-as-you-Go - Pre-pay SIM included - SIM Locked Mobile Phone - Black (UK Model)

New Price: £69.98

Review for Samsung M110"Solid" Pay-as-you-Go - Pre-pay SIM included - SIM Locked Mobile Phone - Black (UK Model):
Nokia Solid
I could not find any waterproof mobile phone available in this country and as an alternative purchased this Nokia M110 Solid phone from O2 for £49.99 on 'Pay As You Go'.
I sail a lot and have damaged a number of mobiles through water damage.
This phone has been brilliant. It is basic (inc. WAP)with a smallscreen but has large numerals and letters making it easy to read.
Don't tell O2 but I placed this phone on the bottom of a large bucket of cold water for over 2 hours and it worked straight out of the water !! For sailing it could be a life saver. Excellent value at this price.

Nokia 7600 - ThreePay - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone

Used Price: £59.99

Review for Nokia 7600 - ThreePay - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone:
GET IT!!
I would highly recommend this handset to anyone.

One the plus side

Its individual - People look at you with a certain"Is that thing a phone" look in their eyes!

For a UMTS handset its small and fits nicly in your hand

Good quality camera for Photos and Videos - Hilarous when drunk taking videos of things!

The camera quality is good, and so is the video recording, and its hilarous when your drunk filming things.

Its on 3, which means you save a fortune!

You can select network, which is a good thing if where you live you get frequent dropped calls (Like me) when its connected to 3.

On the downside:

The screen is typical nokia style, not very bright and not a particularly high resolution.

The camera protrudes about 4mm out the back, nothing major, just would have been nice if it was flush.

The express on cover things dont clip on to the phone very well, and quite often when taking the phone out my pocket one of the side covers has caught and pulled it off. it would just feel better in your hand if they fitted better.

For the network

I work for 3 so trust me i know what im talking about:

You will no doubt get dropped calls, this is when you are calling connected to 3's network, and you move outside coverage. You then have to redial. BUT on this handset you can manually select O2, which means no dropped calls.

Coverage is currently at 70% of the population, more 3G coverage than any other network, and its still growing. Last year over 200 base stations went live each week on average, and its still the UK's fastest growing network. The aim is 99% population coverage.

You have to get your head around the ThreePay system. Do research into it, go to the 3 website, see if your monthly spend makes it worth while. Threepay is designed for high sending Pay As You Go customers, and unless you spend more than £15 a month at present then you shouldnt buy it!

You get the same on ThreePay as what you get on contract, but you have to topup every 30 days!

Hope I've helped

Sony Ericsson T300 with camera - Orange - Just Talk Prepay

Used Price: £19.99

Review for Sony Ericsson T300 with camera - Orange - Just Talk Prepay:
Bargin Fone - Not The Greatest Spec Though
Like I sed in the title : Bargin Fone - Not The Greatest Spec Though.
the fone is amazing, and considering the age of the design, revolutionary. It was the first bargin colour screen phone. The polyphonic ringtones sound great, a bit quite tho.
My only major niggles with the fone are that the screen is quite poor resoloution and the phone has the habit of freezing up when too manyt buttons are pressed at once.

Nokia 3650 (Silver) - T-Mobile - Pay As You Go

Used Price: £39.99

Review for Nokia 3650 (Silver) - T-Mobile - Pay As You Go:
worst mobile phone of my life so far
Having endured such dismal products as the Siemens C35, I thought I had experienced the worst mobile phone manufacturers could produce - until now. I got this phone as other Nokia phones I have had have been good. The 3650 however massively compromises phone performance for some pretty poor camera funtions. Specific points worth considering are a very short battery life (2 days), poor build quality, large physical size and weight, very confusing and difficult to use phone functions and finally a very long delay between pressing button and anything happening. And oh yes, there appears to be a number of software bugs that result in the phone not being at all reliable. This is a classic case of technical marvel that does everything apart from the job it should do best - be a phone.
