Lowepro Ridge 20 Camera pounch

This bag was offered as a free product on selected camera's. Only problem is the camera i bought, a Fujifilm s1000fd does not fit in it.

So a bit pointless really. Not great by amazon..

A bit too big for slim portable HDs

It looks nice etc., but this pouch is for"slim" hard drives (HDs) from the past. This is not something you can put in your pocket, as it is too big. There is a pocket inside for a USB cord, but it is also too big. One can put two or three cords in there. Since I myself have a slim HD from Western Digital (WD), I would call it - a pouch for two portable HDs from WD. Besides, HD is NOT held securely, as the pocket is too big for my WD, so HD can wobble in 2 dimensions if a force is applied. There is a stretchable band inside that is supposed to hold HD at the top, but it just only toching it rather preventing HD from falling out than holding it tight. I ended up putting more things in the pouch to use a space inside efficiently and hold the hard drive more tight. It is also tricky to connect HD while it is in the pouch, so you have to take it out. Not the most advanced and handy construction. I understand that one can not make something absolutely universal, for all portable HDs. But if you want something handy, small and secure just for your slim HD from Western Digital, this pouch is not perfect al all. It is just to carry HD + USB cord + accessories in the same place in your backpack.

I Rest My Case

Well what can you say about a camera case? Judging by the amount of reviews, quite a bit really. Too many can be quite confusing I think.
Anyway... I've just bought a current model Canon digital camera (the Ixus 80iS) and this case to put it in. Others have mentioned a tight fit and indeed this camera is. But it DOES go in and, hopefully, it might loosen up a tad.
No space for memory cards (but with the big SD cards available, I don't need that)
No space for spare battery (OK, could be a problem, but this is not an equipment case, purely one to protect the camera)
And"that belt loop" (nah, I won't use that either. But its not obtrusive)

4stars purely because its a tight fit and the leather's stiff. A good and smart case though.

Is the size correct?

Can someone confirm the size of this for me please? It states 70cm x 120cm x 50cm which is more like a small suitcase. Should it be mm? Thanks.

Don't be fooled...

Don't be fooled by the marketing, the special arty extra's and panorama features Olympus promotes are not worth having - you get a handful of tacky frames and messages to add to your photos e.g. Congratulations / Happy Birthday etc. Get any card so long as its fast and add effects or stitch photos together for panoramic shots on your PC.

A great bag

Ive only just bought my first DSLR this month and found the array of bags, tripods, lenses and other accessories daunting. One of the best things I bought was this bag. Its got a very secure and save main section for a camera and 1 to 2 additional lenses, plus a host of other useful pouches. Its not too big and cumbersome too which is ideal.

It also has a Velcro pouch on the font that opens out to reveal a rainproof protective cover for the whole bag - excellent.

This is highly recommended.

Canon DCC-70 case for the IXUS 950 IS

Though this case is billed as 'soft', it is in fact reasonably firm and not what I expected at all. The surface leather is soft, but there is enough support in its structure to take a reasonably hard blow. This was very welcome as I wanted something both firm and leather, rather than padded nylon.

There is a slot for a belt to go through at the back and the cover fastens at the front with a very strong magnetic clip. The camera fits perfectly into this case and it even stands up nicely and safely on the cases base. There is a gap at the side for the cameras wrist cord to go through, so obvioulsy it's not perfectly water proof.

I would say it's a little bulky to fit into the pocket, which with the cases's 'soft' description I had expected, but it does leave the camera well protected and is very attractive and expensive looking. It probably offers as much, if not more protection from blows as the Samsonite versions. It would fit on a belt under a T-shirt easily, thought not really in the pockets of summer wear shorts and things, without leaving a fair bulge.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend it, but don't expect a very thin, soft leather pouch. It is much more rigid than that. It is much better than I had expected, the 'bulk' still being vastly less than my Canon SLR, EOS 650 in its leather case. Amazon was, as always cheap and reliable.

ideal for Sony HDR-SR10E

Bought this for use with a Sony HDR-SR10E - perfect fit for the camera, battery, cables and charging stuff. Great price; you cant go wrong!

ANOTHER EXCELLENT QUALITY HAMA CASE

Well made and good value for money, much better value than the current £19.99 you pay for a lesser quality branded Tom Tom case. Case has a tough outer shell which protects GPS and a spacious section for the in charger to be stored. Recommend purchase.

Great Accessory

It does it's job brilliantly. Designed specifically for the Sony Alpha DSLR and the A200 fits perfectly inside, as will the A350 and A700. There are two side pockets for memory cards/filters and a lengthy shoulder strap.

The only down side is the side pockets aren't really big enough for the charger, due to the size of the UK plug. It will fit inside the main case however, but be careful not to scratch your camera.

Fits like a glove but could be better quality

Fit's TomTom ONE v3 perfecly - unlike the Amazon description. The TomTom website also lists v3 and others as"compatible".

Does as it is described, but could be better 'feel' of quality, especially at £18 (18% of the TomTom itself!)

Great little case

This is a great little case for all Sony Camera owners out there. It's soft enough to protect your delicate camera and yet tough enough to protect it from the elements. It does exactly as it says really. I'm curruntly using it for my Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and have to say it protects it really well, doesn't leave any scratches or marks on the camera at all. It fastens with a velcro tab and has a small zipped compartment on the front for a spare battery or memory card. Overall, a great product and well worth the money. Much better value than other unofficial camera cases available. Plain, simple and good value for money.

A triumph of form over function

I bought this with my new G9, mainly to wear on my belt, because I had a superb Canon non-leather soft case with my Powershot S50.
On the first trip abroad the belt loop on the DCC-600 came half away from the case at the top - there was only one row of stitching to hold it on. Doh!
The case is also rather"boxy" and not very soft, with the result that it catches on things when worn on the belt. The camera sits in the case rather loosely, and the magnetic clasp does not give any real sense of security. There is no space allocated for a spare battery or other little bits and bobs like a lens cleaning cloth.
I don't think the case was designed by anyone who wanted to use it, particularly on a belt - it might be OK if you want to wear the camera on its strap around your neck - then the security is handled by the strap and not the case.
I returned the broken case for a refund within 2 weeks of delivery and am now looking at Samsonite and others.

if you love heavy beats you'll love this one

ok, skip the all good nice bass spendid sound quality crispy clear tone etc., cause' we all know it's true! But I would say to a point, you might find the bass too heavy, a bit unbearable. For rock pop metallic lovers porta pro is GOLD, but if you're a classic, Opera, soprano fan who demands more on higher tones, porta pro is acceptable but I would get something else better if I were you.

Great Bag, But Only a Starter!

Well, I bought this after a recommendation from a forum. It was all great, the bag is robust, secure and transported my D60 SLR with two lenses fine. There is space for three lenses at a push. The whole slingshot feature is great. Access to the camera is easy to access and I feel my gear is secure with the clips and zip system.

Three months on, I have grown out of it as I wanted a bag what I could carry a drink and sandwiches in. I also have four lenses, a lens hood and a spare battery to transport with me.

I'd recommend this bag for those just starting out, but if you plan to get serious, get a bag that doesn't LOOK like a photographers bag. Look at double strap bags as this one can last for a few hours but all day could be painful on the shoulder!
