Compared to my previous cameras - I think fujifilm have done a great job in keeping it streamlined and not over complicating it - Dont be put off by the absence of the flash bulky dials because its all been built in to the easy to the user friendly screen menu and has a wealth of options - I think this is the way most digi cameras will go...
dont be put off by the low price - it really is a perfect compact little camera with mighty power and will probally be a huge seller..

Perfect little Camera
I bought this as a replacement for the Sony-WD130 which I lost - and its grown on me very quickly! Biggest Mistake
With specifications to that price , I was very much tempted and bought useless camera in my life. the picture quality is good but I couldnt escape the blur while taking the picture. I have been clicking 3-4 times to one gud picture.8

Toss up between this & the Canon Ixus 75. Decided to go for this as I wanted a bit more than point & click. I used to have a Canon Powershot A95 & this completely walks all over it. The colours are miles better. Heartily recommended to anyone who wants a lot in a small package.10

In case you're wondering, this fits the S5800 too, just check the dimensions in the specs, they're identical.Only annoyance (and this is really minor) is that it comes with its own strap while the camera already has one, and they could have designed the case with that in mind.

Great camera! Can't be closer to a Pro!
I bought this camera because I wanted"all" the features of a Pro, while not having to change the lenses, but still have enough wide angle and zoom power to satisfy my needs. And for this price, this camera couldn't be any better! Well...it could actualy, in terms of frames-per-second. That's the only thing I don't like about this camera. Too slow if you are into sports or high speed shooting. That's where the Pros really show why the higher prices. Besides that, you almost won't notice that this is not a Pro camera, with all it's manual controls and settings. The dual card slot is also very usefull, so you don't waste your previous xD cards, while you can go for bigger capacity and speed CF ones. As I said before, if this camera had the 3fps or higher,like the Olympus one, it would be just a perfect match! If you are not a Pro and don't mind taking pictures at 1.2fps, you'll love this camera. The picture quality is also very good and you won't notice any bigger differences when compared to Pro cameras. As always, it's more important the person behind the camera, than the camera itself. :-) I don't regret buying this camera and I bet that like my previous S5000, it will last me for years and years, without any problems.12

My experience is that this camera produces screen shots which are of extremely poor quality - not fit for purpose at all. Out of curiousity I printed an image and every thing was sharp and bright, quite the opposite to what you see on screen. I will now need to buy another camera, and I will be buying one from a shop where I can test the camera before buying.

Just what I wanted .........
Bought new camera in August and needed latest gismo to show off the pictures on my laptop. With so many card readers to choose from decided to take a friend's advice and buy the type specific for my camera. Ordered Friday pm and received Saturday am via normal first class post. Plugged into laptop and didn't have time to make a cuppa; it was so quick to be seen on the screen and pictures were loaded by tea-time. So just what I wanted and extremely good value; so would recommend if you only need a picture card for your super snaps.19

Good camera - but small.
I bought this camera to replace my very trusted S9600 which I managed to accidently fry last week. I still plan to have it repaired by Fuji, so at this point in time, I don't know which will become my first choice camera. This is a sturdy feeling camera - some posts have said heavy - but I disagree. I like a camera to feel businesslike, and this one does. It's small - I'm a woman with small hands, and even my fingers tend to feel a little cramped on the body. And putting the lens cap on invariably means you put a big thumbprint over the viewing screen - annoying, but it's new, so maybe I just haven't got the hang of it yet. It seems to be a good camera - nice sharp pix and easy to use, yet able to go a little further than basic beginner photographs. The lens is automatic - again, I'm used to my more manual S9600 and being able to screw the lens cap on while it's out, and have found myself chasing this one back into the body of the camera a couple of times. So far, enjoying it. It's got slightly more pixels than my other camera, so we'll see what happens in the end. This one is certainly lighter, and more compact, so maybe a better camera for carrying about unobtrusively.20
