32V4000 V 32W4000

If you dont have a blueray player, If you dont have HDTV then you dont need the 32W4000 the 32V4000 is GREAT !

Having used a Sony 28inch for the last 5 years, when ITV digital started, then On Digital and now Freeview. I wasnt expecting a big improvement, as I already had the best TV ? WRONG

This new 32V4000 is 500 times better, so clear I no longer need to use my eye glasses to read the text :)

What a great TV !

Great TV at a decent price

After some research on 19" TV's we settled on this Samsung one and so far it's been great.

The only negative things we can say about it is the internal speakers aren't amazingly powerful, but this isn't much of an issue as you can plug external speakers into it, and also it doesn't seem to have an internal battery to keep the time when you unplug it. As long as it's on standby it'll remember the time, but turn it off at the wall and the clock resets to midnight on Jan 1st. You have to keep resetting it each time you want to use the inbuilt timer, like recording programs, as it doesn't seem able to output the TV signals to external recording devices unless the TV itself is actually turned on (annoying when you want to save energy as standby mode uses lots of electricity still). The only way we've found to record programs from it when we're out is to use the"power-on" timer function to wake it up from standby just before the VCR starts.

Generally we're really happy with it though.

Bought this Samsung tv on 28/10/08 and we are highly delighted with it so far, a slight problem first time tuning as it didn't say 'do you want to auto tune' like other models l've had it just said 'plug and play' and had to ring Samsung to find out what it meant so if anyone buying Samsung tvs just follow the 'plug and play' as it means first time tuning in. Having just recieved the Sony KDL32W000 I am a very happy bunny. The TV is everything the experts promised and more.

Picture: Excellent! I am a Virgin Media customer and have the TV drive box and all I can say is"You will be amazed" The blacks are black, the whites are white and the motion is smooth. The football looks great, as does all the fast moving stuff!

Sound: The sound is also good, better than most other LCDs I have heard. I have to admit I use an AV amp, the Sony STRDG820, together with a set of Yamaha NSP110 and all I can say is AWESOME!

Overall this TV provides the best picture I have seen at this price.

I have connect the TV to my PS3 and I am lost for words. Crisp, sharp, clean images.Wow!

Disappointing Analogue Subtitles

As we are not in a Freeview area we have to use the analogue tuner on this model & as a member of our family is hard of hearing, the subtitle facility is of great importance to us.

We were highly satisfied with our old Sony CRT TV, so Sony was a natural replacement choice. The KDL-20S3000 kept losing the analogue subtitles & we had to change channels back & forth to reinstate them. Wonderful Amazon (I echo all the other's reviews regarding their excellent sevice) sent another TV which I ran alongside the 1st TV via a multi-TV aerial amplifier. The same problem occurred on both TVs at different intervals.

Sony UK said that the new dual (analogue/digital) tuners are more sensative & require a stronger reception signal. I was disappointed as reception was fine with my old CRT TV & this TV's fault wasn't rectified with an amplifier.

The KDL-20S3000 is a lovely TV if you don't rely on subtitles. Maybe Sony should review the robustness of their tuners rather than blame the strength of reception signals.

Amazing with HD, ok with Digital TV

I bought this TV to replace a 5 year old Sony 28" CRT telly. As with the other reviewer I bought a Sony Blu-Ray player at the same time. The picture with an HD source is absolutely amazing. Pin sharp and almost 3D-like it's so detailed. The picture with Freeview on the other hand, needs a little fiddling with to get it right. For instance, it's best with the 'Noise Reduction' feature turned off but the 'MPEG Noise Reduction' turned on to max. After you make these adjustments the slightly blurred effect calms down and it all becomes much more watchable. I still don't find it as clear as my old CRT telly but I think that's more down to the fact it's a much bigger screen and it has such a high resolution. It's definitely worth going through the picture options to see what you think, I find the picture to be most natural with a lot of the aids (such as contrast enhancers, Live colour etc) turned off. All in all though it's a beautiful bit of kit (it looks really smart sat in the living room and that's important with something as big as this), the picture is fine with broadcast TV and awesome with HD. I'm pretty happy with it.

Fantastic deal...

When this televison arrived I had hopes of decent if not amazing picture quality. However I was gutted as I booted up my PS3 through HDMI, the quality was poor, more PS2 like than Hi-def PS3. Then I started to tinker with Brightness/Contrast etc. and it makes a world of difference, I'm amazed at the quality picture now that the settings are tinkered to my needs, and the picture is easily comparable to the big and expensive Samsung's, (own a 42" Samsung) with the Polaroid probably coming out on top in terms of quality for PS3 use. In terms of sound, I'm using my sony sound system, however after trying the sound though the TV, I again was suprised, the quality was great, real HD sound. It genuinly is astounding that you can get this sized TV with this quality for so cheap.

Dont be put off by the name, this is a fantastic deal.....

A MUST BUY TV!!

I have owned this TV for a week now and I can't rate it high enough, I purchased it to replace my Sony 26" Bravia TV which is also a great TV but because of larger living premises a larger TV was needed. I always wanted to stick with Sony because having seen many LCD's I firmly believe Sony are superia in the the two main funtions, those being picture and sound. nevertheless I was still slightly apprahensive about going from a 26" TV to a 40" TV because of losing picture quality. My worries didn't last very long though, it took about 20 mins from getting it out of the box attaching the stand and letting the automatic tuning do its business, and boy am I impressed! the picture completely blew me away and this was before I made my slight adjustments to the picture settings, at first I thought the sound was not to great but a slightly higher bass and treble sorted that out, maybe sometime in the future I will get some surround sound but i,m in no hurry. Of coarse when you sit with your nose touching the screen you can see all the liitle blocks that make up the picture, I sit at around 10" away where all is fine, I would recommend being no closer than 8" though (on standard definition that is) I orderd my HD box when I purchases the TV which i'm slightly regretting now because i'm so impressed with the normal view, but i'm still looking forward to watching the likes of Prisonbreak and the footy in High definition. Connected to my 360 was also excellent, Gears of War looked fantastic, haven't watched a DVD yet but I hold no fears. All in all this is a must buy TV and for 600 quid you wont buy better!

Excellent LCD TV

I bought this TV about a month ago after much research, the fact that Which? magazine rated it as a best buy certainly influenced my decision. I use it not only as a TV but also as a computer monitor and video game display and it is excellent in all these roles. It's very easy to set up and use, the sound is good and the picture fantastic, I really can't fault it.

Very Satisfied

I spent a great deal of time researching 37 inch full HD Lcd's and finally settled on this Toshiba 37XV505D (same spec as the 503D but slightly different cosmetically). For the price this TV is outstanding value. Feed a decent quality signal in this and the results are very, very good. Setting up the TV for Freeview is simple and takes a couple of minutes. The SD quality on Freewview is very good, watching CBeebies on chanel 71 with my grandchildren shows just how good this TV is. Sky+ SD quality is also good especially the sport channels. Hooking this up to SKY HD is something I am looking forward to. It does take a bit of time to get the picture set up to your preference but its well worth it. Dont leave it set on the default Dynamic-User settings, they are way over the top. The sound is not the best but its not that bad. There is plenty of volume there but the vocals sound a bit muffled for want of a better word. I was dissapointed in that the Digital Optical output is only from the DTV (Freeview) Source. I have a Toshiba HD EP30 Dvd hooked up to this and the full HD picture is breathtaking. This set was recently given a best buy in one of the TV review magazines which meant that demand has increased for this unit. If you buy this you will not be dissapointed.

Firstly, I know this is a place to put your reviews, and hopefully I will be doing that shortly!

But I thought that as all of you are obviously very satisfied with your Sonys and also the research I have done on the Sony HD Ready LCD tv it looks perfect for my needs.

I was on the verge of buying this tv when it was pointed out to me that if you do not have cable or satellite then you cannot use this tv or that the quality of the picture is far below what it should be.

From the reviews I have read, everyone seems satisfied - does this mean that you all have cable/satellite?

Spot a superb picture

I procrastinated over which TV to get to replace our existing LCD - and I'm so glad I bought this!

The picture is superb to the point that instead of watching what was going on I was mesmerised by what poor skin the actors had! And the clothes that the actors were wearing looked as though I could just reach over and stroke the material.

It was really easy to set up as well although I was bemused trying to find where the aerial went as everything else was so clearly marked.

I'd recommend this TV to any of my friends.

Brightness Problem

TV is fine apart from having to increase the brightness each time it is switched on, until it warms up. Seems to be less of a problem if the TV is left on standby.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Polaroid 15 inch tv

I decided to buy this for our kitchen, on chance, after reading other reviews and must say I'm very pleased with it, so much so, that I also decided to buy the 19" model for our dining room, (yes I know, very sad isn't it!!). The picture and sound are really good and yes, ok, if viewed from below (40 degrees or less, like previous comments) then, for whatever reason, the screen appears to be very dark (so don't sit on the floor to view it!) but otherwise I think they are excellent value for money. I recommended them to friends who are equally please with their purchases.

Perfect PC Laptop extension Monitor and TV

The reception for Digital Free-view plus Laptop Monitor is excellent. I am very pleased with this Polaroid 22" TV. I was initially influenced by the positive reviews for the 19" version, so considered the 22" would be fine.

The TV was supplied with many HDI audio cables but no direct cables for either aerial or audio connection for the laptop, but I soon purchased these. Now I have both excellent surround sound plus clear quality picture.

I am impressed by the screen input menu, remote control and auto-tuning.

Although I bought an indoor boost aerial I found that the only suitable digital signal was obtained by linking into my main TV aerial socket. This was achieved by an inexpensive coax cable connected to this TV via a twin outlet booster module.

I had joined the Amazon Prime trial option which gave me delivery the next day. with nil delivery charge.

The TV is an excellent purchase, in a lovely white case, lots of rear sockets for many input applications, as well as sockets for extension speakers.

As a PC monitor it is excellent.

I made the right choice

I dithered for a long time trying to choose a 40" TV. Couldn't decide between Panasonic Plasma or Sony LCD. In the end my dithering paid off as the price has dropped by over £400.

I bought the Sony in the end and I'm extremely pleased with it. I'm mainly using it for Sky (SD) but even on Freeview through the built in tuner it has a great picture (so long as you don't sit right in front of the screen) much better than any Freeview picture I have seen...very little Pixilation even on fast moving stuff like football.

Haven't tried any HD sources yet but upscaled DVDs look very rich.

I'm slightly disappointed by the sound....doesn't have the punch of my Toshiba LCD so at some stage I may consider surround sound or a 'sound bar' but it is more than adequate for general TV progs.

Good quality TV

Having looked for many TVs and already purchased it's bigger brother, I purchased this TV for use in the kitchen. As it is up high on a stand I was particuarly concerned about viewing angle and for sure viewing from a table below it does get slightly darker occasionaly but overall excellent. I would recommend this TV to anyone for this use. If you want it for high fidelity sound then I know what the other reviewer means but it is really not that bad . The picture quality is excellent and the set-up child's play.

All set up and running by 10.00am - it couldn't be simpler. Techlink DAIS - LCD & Plasma Glass TV Stand To 42" - Clear Glass With Silver Legs took me all of 10 minutes to put together and is just the right size to fit the 37" tv - a smaller stand would definitely cause there to be a tv overhang.

Very impressed with both products. The quality of the picture is superb, it makes you realise just how poor the picture was on an ordinary tv.

Finally, can't fault Amazon at all - always prompt and efficient service.

Excellent value for money

This TV is excellent value for money, not stated in technical details but it comes with 30,000 contrast ratio and also the 100Hz motion plus, DNIe Pro and Wide Colour Enhancer 2. Been using it for PS3 gaming and started my Blu Ray collection with the Godfather box set. Would highly recommend purchasing this TV.
