fun, challenging and fragile!

I bought a twin pack of these helicopters for my son last Christmas. At first they were great fun, and actually rather challenging even for adults to control. However, if crashed at the"wrong" angle (and believe me - you WILL crash them) the small downward pointing section at the end of the tail breaks.
Both of my son's helicopters have broken tails and will no longer fly properly. The part is so small it can't be fixed even with super glue.
They are too light to fly outdoors (we got one stuck in the neighbours tree!) and you need a large space to fly them indoors. They move so quickly when on a full charge that in a small room they crash into the walls or ceiling almost straight away. As the charge runs down they get easier to manouvre, and with a lot of practice my son learned to fly them well (though I never did!).

Disappointing picture...

Quite disappointed that the picture was really not that great; not even of one of the more 'popular' aliens. I would never have bought this jigsaw from a shelf but I suppose that's what you get from buying blind. I now have to search the shops for a 'Ben 10' jigsaw, as opposed to a 'little-known alien' jigsaw. I just wish the advice of the product supplied being a different design would be made more clear as I only noticed this after I had ordered; or at least put on images of the alternative designs.

great fun for all

great family game for all ages. Adults will enjoy the challenges and as this requires a sharp mind it improves concentration for kids as well as the pure enjoyment of playing a fun game. Easy to pick up and play at any time.

Get outta my mind!

...says a bloke on the current 20Q TV advert. And yes, it appears for most of the time this little round gadget is reading my mind, as long as I'm thinking simple thoughts...

Okay, this little beastie tries to guess what someone is thinking about by asking a series of questions that can be answered by a simple yes/no/maybe. After 20 questions it tries to guess what you thought of with varying degrees of success. For example, think of cola and it might guess a can or a bottle; which to be honest isn't too far from the truth.

Personally, I think it's one of those"coffee table" objects; something that would sit on a table and maybe once in a while you'll try it out. Mind you, the expressions on people's faces when it guesses correctly is priceless!

WAKE UP CATMANDOO!!!!

I read the review from Catmandoo and to say I was not happy was a under statement. I do not believe that anybody who is walking today has not played or heard of Top Trumps. This game has been around for donkeys years why write a review and slag the product off when you apparantly know nothing about it. If you haven't played or heard of Top Trumps just ask any kids that live down your street they will put you right.

Just as I remember

I had one of the original cubes as a child and loved it. It is probably up in the loft somewhere but I wanted a new one anyway. This is exactly the same high quality I remember. It was lovely and fluid straight out of the box. I love it just as much now as I did then, now Im a bit smarter so can complete it too LOL. I have no hesitation in recommending this cube, it really is the best one you can buy.

Great for older Ben10 fans

My 4 year old son borrowed a Omnitrix FX from a friend for a couple of weeks and played with it non-stop, had so much imaginative play with it that when I saw this one reduced to £12 I knew it would be well worth the money.
The deluxe one does seem to be much better quality than the F/x. It has a thick fabric strap that fastens with velcro so fairly easy to put on and take off. It is a big hunk of plastic but my son loves that about it. It has a black and white screen and various modes in which too play. this is where problems arose a little for my little boy who has not yet learnt to read. He cannot play in battle mode as this consists of a little animation of Ben running for a while and then at random times the watch makes a noise to alert you a villain has approached. Text then runs along under a picture of the villain instructing you which Alien you must turn the omnitrix too in order to win. It then times you while you turn the dial thro the aliens, choose the correct one and hit the watch. It then shows a little fight - not amazing graphics but the kids don't care - and tell you whether you have won or lost.

Normal mode is a lot simpler - you turn the dial, select which alien you want to be and hit the watch, much like Ben10 himself. It makes all the right noises and then shows a few images of your chosen alien.

There is also status mode which shows how many battle you have won and lost and options which you can turn the sound off.

When we first got this, my little boy kept having to bring it too me has he had wandered into various modes and couldn't get to where he wanted to be. I think for younger fans the FX is probably sufficient although the plastic strap is nowhere near as nice or comfortable looking and I think considering it doesn't actually do anything other than make noises and flash light it ought to be substantially less expensive than the deluxe.

Now my son has had this a week or so he seems to have worked out how to navigate around it without being able to read what it says, and taking the closeness in price into account, I would have to recommend the deluxe Omnitrix over the Omnitrix F/X.

Plays MORE than one song!

The first train we had only played the one song- until it drove us all nearly demented (the American voice grates a bit). Then one day we heard a snatch of another song and found out ours was defective. Amazon swapped it no problem- got the new one before we sent the broken one back. Now it plays a selection of songs and sounds.

You can set it to move and the baby chases it across the room. Or you can turn the movement off. The animals are lovely and chunky, and their heads click when you turn them. It's our daughter's most played with toy.

Police truck and command centre

This is a great toy. My 9 year old son has just received the set with the police headquarters. As with most Lego sets, they are easy to make up and look great when finished. I am sure this will provide hours of fun.

Perfect for little people

These crayons are perfect for little people. I bought these crayons when my daughter was 12 months old and she loves them. She is now nearly 2 and she has not managed to break or snap any yet. They are lovely and chunky for little hands to grip. They have a great selection of colours.
We kept a few seperate in her changing bag, as they are a brilliant idea if you get stuck in a traffic jam, or to keep them amused in the highchair if you are eating out. These are a must have and travel everywhere with us!
My little girl loves these so much I have now bought her a new set.
The only drawback is that they do take a bit of elbow grease to remove from the telly, walls, furniture etc. But so far I have managed to remove any little accidents! I'm not sure that they would from wallpaper though, as luckily her accidents have been easy clean surfaces.
If you have dogs, make sure these stay off the floor or there could be tears. For some reason my dogs seem to love eating stray crayons.
Highly recommended, a really good investment that keeps them amused for hours!

So Much Fun!!

Bought this for my 3 year old nephew for xmas but my three o'clock everyone from my ten year old son to my 85 year old grandma had had a go!

A really fun, simple game that doesn't require any tricky construction and is easy to use.

A classic!

Silly fun for everyone! (Over 2ft 6in)

Ok, If you’ve been on Mars for the last few decades Twister is the game where have a large plastic sheet with big coloured dots on it and a board with a spinny pointy thing. Realistically you need at least three people to play, but you can just about manage with two. Especially if one is a contortionist!

Spread the sheet on the floor and give the board to the third player. He spins the arm which dictates which limb the other players have to place on which coloured dot. Easy-peasy. Until about the third move.

We have nine kids. We have had Twister for about 16 years. We have had, what must add up to, months of enormous and ridiculous fun with it. It just is one of the simplest and most fun games on the market.

The other stuff: Well, don’t pay too much attention to the blurb. It has absolutly no educational value at all. Any child that doesn’t know it’s left from right and it’s colours is almost certainly too short to play - though that shouldn’t stop them from trying. And anyway, in the middle of the chaos that is Twister, they are not going to have time to worry about it. In this house when short people play they always end up getting lots of help, and cheating is standard. I’ve given it 2 stars anyway, because it seems to be a contemporary fixation that everything must be educational.

My only complaint is on the durability side. The ’arm’ comes off the board too easily. In 16 years we’ve had three Twisters.Then again, given the amount of use they’ve had maybe that’s not such bad going.

Thirty years on and still going strong

I've played Scrabble for the past 30 years and to date, it still has retained its charm. It's the ultimate game of wits. Even a MA in English means that you are not likely to become a Scrabble great; however, an eye for strategy will be far more helpful. The best Scrabble players are not usually the highest scorers but are more likely to be the better blockers and have a good knowledge of all or most of the two letter words.For example, a word such as XI in the right place can be worth as much as the bonus for 7 letters i.e 50 points. Make sure that you have the official Scrabble dictionary as this a good dispute resolver especially when one plays a contentious word.

could have been better

This is a great idea for Pokemon Fans but the poor quality of the boards means the little cards fall out frequently- especially when you put it in and out of the box, and they are fiddly and frustrating to insert.
This meant our 6 year old son lost interest very quickly in it as he felt it was too much hassle every time he wanted to play.

Don't waste your money

This was bought for my daughters 5th birthday
and its all she really wanted. We got it straight out the box and into the bath. It doesn't swim! It has a good try and flops onto its side. Makes a lot of noise and is so very ugly. It hasn't been used again since and i dont expect it will be.

A great game

I got this for my son and he loved it.It is not hard to play we have played with it 8 times now it gets boring you can play it on a rainy day.It is a bit over priced but it is worth it

Big Disappointment

Perhaps I bought the only Vtech camera that wasn't working properly, who knows I can only speak from experience. So whenever you receive this camera, please print out your pictures and test the camera out before Christmas day, unfortunately, I did neither. Yes, it was fun for them to use initially, I don't deny that. We had to purchase a memory card because the memory on the camera wasn't good, neither was clarity of the still or moving image and the flash was less than good and to top it all, the picture quality was exceptionally poor when printed out so two rather disappointed children. So this year I won't have two disappointed children instead I will be opting for a more shockproof/waterproof camera like an Olympus, whose picture quality will be accurate and what they see will be what they get.

Who Loves Elmo - We Do!

I bought one of these for myself. They're not just entertaining for kids, they're great for adults too! I was sooooooo impressed. It just shows how much technology has advanced. He can dance, he can sneeze, he sits down on his little stool, crosses his legs and tells you a story, can tell you joke, can give you a hug and blow you a kiss etc. He can do so many things, and he's so cute!

Elmo's got a lovely soft material on the outside of him, but he is obviously a fragile toy with all the sensors, and contraptions inside of him. He certainly couldn't be thrown about, and you couldn't bend his arms or legs excessively or you would just break him. Just be aware of that when buying it for children. As long as they play with it gently, it should be fine.

The only thing that's going against it is the £58.00 price tag. It is a very expensive toy, and some people will find it a bit too much (especially during these credit crunch times). Of course it is worth it, but it would probably sell a lot more if it were £10 cheaper.

The next stage for Elmo is for him to actually walk, and then there'll be no stopping him - he'll be like a live muppet robot in your home!
