Love them, only break if you do not look after them

I love my GHDs. I have had two. The first pair lasted a year as i used to wrap the wire around them and bang them about. The second pair I still have, after three years. I have looked after these ones and still no problems. I have perfect hair all the time, unless it rains.

More than slightly unhappy...

This product was exaclty what I expected and my boyfriend loves it, but it came with a European plug, and I think this is absolutely unacceptable given that I bought it from the UK Amazon, and I now have to go out and buy an adaptor just so my boyfriend can use it. This is the second time it's happened to us in a matter of weeks with different products and is not good enough. I paid good money for this item and we expected that it would be in a state that could be used upon delivery, which it is clearly not. If the item cannot be used in the UK it should not be sold on Amazon.co.uk, or should at least state that the product is made to fit European outlets.

Don't buy a cheap one!

Great product. There are some cheap trimmers available but they just don't work. This makes sorting my hooter out quick and simple.

Philips HS 8060 Moisturiser

Brilliant product which goes hand in hand with the classy Philips HS 8060. Skin feels genuinely smooth and well moisturised. Purchased my shaver elsewhere but the Amazon price is the best i since seen. The moisturiser price is fantastic value for money.
Well done Amazon, keep up the great work.

An excellent shaving experience

I've been shaving electic for over 20 years and have mainly used expensive Braun models. I tried a Philips rotary shaving system about 5+ years ago but it wasn't particularly good.

My current Braun started playing up and I had two options, change the foil or buy a new shaver. Having read the excellent reviews of the Philips HS8060 I thought I'd give it a try and see what all the fuss was about.

Well I'm glad I did. This is without doubt the closest home shave I have ever experienced and is certainly comparable to a traditional barbers wet shave. Its also reduced my shaving time down considerably as well and the Nivea Moisturiser certainly leaves my skin feeling much softer, although I agree that it isn't the nicest smelling moisturiser on the market.

I normally spend £150+ on my electric razors. The price on Amazon for the HS8060 is excellent and the item was delivered quickly. All in all I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Gum tickler

Wow. That is one of the oddest legal sensations I've ever had. This toothbrush does not mess about, it really shifts and gives the impression, during and after, of brushing your teeth a thousand times at once. The aspect which is a bit more difficult is that it really, really tickles. And I wasn't aware I had ticklish gums. The main benefit to this is that it really wakes you up in the morning, the main problem is that if you're feeling a bit dodgy, the level of involvement with your toothbrush which is required should you not want your mouth to spasm is off-putting.

It has three settings, which it refers to as sensitive/clean/clean and white, which can also be referred to as tickle/buzz/electrocution; but I'm being churlish, after just a few uses, the coffee and pipe tobacco stains have been beaten into submission.

Terrible Toothbrush

Having gone from the cheapest oral b professional toothbrush to this rubbish, I quickly realised what a mistake I had made. My teeth were turning visibly yellow and plaque was building up even though I brushed my teeth more often. Following a visit to the hygienist to undo the damage this brush has done, I've gone back to the old toothbrush and will be leaving this one well alone. Please don't buy this and save your money for something much better (if more expensive).

As close and smooth as Gillette Fusion Power

I've never written a product review before but i was so impressed with this shaver that i just had to tell everyone. I've never bought an electric shaver before and have been razor shaving for 18years. Decided to finally take the plunge as i had read some good reviews about this shaver and was really bored with razor shaving and needed to try something different. Amazon are selling it for £42 as opposed to other retailers that sell it for £70 so i decided to take the plunge. Used it last nite for the 1st time and was truly amazed. I had almost a weeks growth (and i get really thick stubble) It chewed through that no problem. It then went on to leave a finish that is as smooth and close as my Fusion power. It takes longer than a razor but is oddly relaxing to use. Whenever you feel any drag you can just press the button and squirt more gel onto the blades. Washing under the tap or in water as you shave is SO easy and my boat felt like a babys ass afterwards. I got through 2 tanks of gel in the shaver in one shave so the trial gel bottle probably wont last very long but you can squirt normal shaving gel onto the blades and this actually works better anyway. Im gonna try prising the lid off the nivea bottle and pouring Boots own brand shaving balm in there as this will save a lot in running costs. The flexible cloverleaf head is brilliant as it adjusts to all the contours which fixed head shavers cant do. It even shaved the nooks and crannies that my fusion power cant reach. Impressive to say the least.
Only fault is the seal on the rear casing that holds the pressurized gel inside the shaver. When i finished shaving i refilled it back to maximum and put it on charge. When i woke up this morning i noticed that some of the gel had oozed out of the seals and the gel tank was half empty so from now on i'll make sure that i leave the gel tank empty when i finish using it. Not really a problem but the only reason why i gave it 4stars rather than 5.

Absolutely hostile to the environment

I won't even bother commenting on whether this is a good shaver or not, I just wanted to bring your attention to the fact that this device damages the environment in many ways. I strongly believe that 10 hours charging time for 35 minutes of operation is totally unacceptable! In times where we are trying to cut down on electricity consumption and carbon emissions as much as possible, that's a lot of wasted energy! Also bear in mind that since you can't use the device while it is connected to the mains, the battery will eventually die (a similar Philips shaver I had only lasted 4 years), and since it is not replaceable it will simply become waste (i.e. additional environmental burden). I don't really understand why Philips have chosen to keep it that way, the technology is there, their QC5070 hair clipper is excellent, it charges in less time and can be used with or without a cord. In the USA they also have the T980 trimmer which is similar to the QT4045 but charges in just 70 minutes and is suitable for both corded and cordless operation. The only reason I see for them not to provide such a product in the European market is to make you buy a new one when the battery in your QT4045 (or the one in similar products in their men's grooming line-up) dies and the device is no longer operable.

Great customer service

I bought my Sonicare HX6932 Flexcare toothbrush in January this year to replace an earlier model which had given up the ghost. This model is a major step forward from the earlier 'elite' model which it replaces for me. It's much lighter, has a range of settings to allow you to reduce the intensity of the brushing action, and it's replacement heads are much cheaper.

I was disappointed therefore when this brush stopped working altogher about a month ago. As I no longer had the original receipt (I'd bought it from eBay) I expected a battle to get it fixed. Not the case. I contacted the Philips helpline and was asked to provide the batch number of the brush. As the lady I spoke to could tell the brush was well within the two year warranty period, she simply gave me a returns number and asked me to send it back. Within a week or so I was sent a brand new replacement (including an infra-red sanitiser unit which mine didn't actually have). No long queues on the phone, a very polite and helpful lady on the phone (sounded Dutch and wasn't following a script!!) and no quibble about fixing/replacing it. All in all a much more pleasant experience than expected.

I guess the litmus test is how well a toothbrush cleans your teeth and I've certainly no complaints on that front. I would say on balance that it cleans better than my original 'elite', although to be fair, I never had and complaints about that one either.

Massager with Heat

Bought this because I have Arthitis.Used it on arrival and got great relief with the massage and heat.

Very shiny hair

Having naturally straight, easy-to-maintain hair I'm usually one of those wash and go girls who doesn't use a dryer. I bought this on recommendation though and have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised. Part of the reason I don't generally use a dryer is that I don't want my hair to be damaged, but since this"conditions as it dries" that doesn't appear to be a problem.

The first time I used it was actually on my 4-year-old daughter who'd just come in from the rain, and her hair immediately felt really soft and looked very shiny. It was also easier to brush which is a definite bonus when trying to dry a child's hair! I used it on my own hair for the first time the following morning and was really pleased with the results. I even had some comments!

Although the dryer is a slightly odd shape and looks fairly bulky, it's not nearly as heavy as you would expect it to be. The colour is lovely and the overall design is attractive and retro. Aside from the conditioning qualities I'm also really happy with the long, good quality cord.

The future!

This straightener is great. It glides through the hair so smoothly without snagging. My hair is soft, straight and shiny all day. The condition of my hair does not feel jeopodised using this straighener at all, which lets face it, thats what all us girls want! The buttons are easily pressed during use, but there is a temperature lock to stop you changing the setting. Seems like Remington have thought of everything while designing this product. I bought mine from Argos, they are on offer until Christmas eve.

Excellent Shave at an Excellent Price

Easily gives the all-round close and comfortable shave that makes Philips vastly superior in my experience. It's the sort I can use while it's recharging so I don't constantly have to bother with top-up recharges (which can severely reduce battery life), and it costs less than a replacement head.

The more expensive Philips razors have a better feel about them but I also like the feel of the change in my wallet.

Great buy!!

As always there were many options in this category but I went with this one as it was branded and was a safer option and luckily it didnt dissapoint at all.

The groomer is good and performs as mentioned in the description. For that price and that warranty, I guess this is great.

The only very minor issue that I found was that u need to brush the hair from front quite a lot to get the best cut!! Something to work on in the next model!! But still a great buy.. !!
